Elizabeth Warren (born Elizabeth Herring, [1] June 22, 1949) [2] is an American lawyer, law professor, and the United States Senate candidate. He served as Assistant to the President and Special Adviser to the Secretary of the Treasury's Office of Consumer Financial Protection. She is also the Leo Gottlieb professor of law at Harvard Law School, where he has taught contract law, bankruptcy and commercial law. Following the 2008-2011 financial crisis, which became the chairman of the Congressional Oversight Panel to oversee the bailout the U.S. banking (Formally known as the Relief Program Troubled Assets). She always called for the creation of a new Office of Consumer Finance, [3] [4], which was established by the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act signed by President Barack Obama on 21 July 2010. As special adviser worked on the implementation of the CFPB.
On May 24, 2010, Time magazine called Warren, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, Sheila Bair, Chairman, and Securities and Exchange Commission, Mary Schapiro, Chairman of the "Sheriff of Wall Street News" on the cover. [5] The September 17, 2010, who was appointed special adviser to President Obama to oversee the development of the Office of Consumer Finance. The position includes the responsibility to recommend a director for this new entity. She was not chosen for the job, with nomination instead of Obama Richard Cordray, subject to congressional approval.
On September 14, 2011, she announced that she would run for the seat Massachusetts U.S. Senate currently held by Republican Scott Brown [6].
Good luck to her in Massachusetts! You know we all need more people like her in the office (and less like Scott Brown).
