Andrew Luck is an idiot
Some will review the decision of Stanford Junior Andrew lucky to stay in school with respect and appreciation.
They say that luck does not care about the money, he loves his college experience and values education.
That may be true, but that does not change the fact that he is making the wrong decision.
There are many things that could go wrong for 21 years of age, if he stays in school.
The most obvious argument against the waiver of the project is that luck could get hurt. It may sound like a doomsday scenario, but every year they expect a high peak is removed from the first round due to injury, costing him millions.
Another critical factor in deciding the fate rookie wage scale is looming. Whenever NFL players and owners reach a new labor agreement, you can bet that a rookie salary cap will be a part of it. If it does not kick in until 2012, the guaranteed money would go from $ 50 million Sam Bradford is stupid this year to about $ 15 million. (And luck is not even guaranteed to be first choice come 2012.)
However, even (or especially) if it took effect immediately, luck and other rookies will have time to service as soon as possible, in order to reach that first big free agent contract. Either way, the delay will cost.
You also have to wonder if Jim Harbaugh leaves, as everyone expected, including Stanford will be good next year? Actions luck never be greater than it is now, and the uncertainty surrounding Stanford football program who have become uneasy about how his last season are gone.
Remember, Jake Locker made the same decision that luck last year when he was expected to be a first selection. There was a horrible 2010 and the decision cost him millions.
Say what you want about luck admirable values, but the reality is that he is making a foolish decision. Luck always can regain his title, so kiss goodbye to potentially $ 35 million or more and the game on your future for a year in college is stupid, no matter how you look.
